Jake Junis called up to start for the Royals on Tuesday
Kansas City Royals pitcher Jake Junis has been called up from Triple-A Omaha.
Junis will draw the start at home against the Houston Astros tonight in what will be his second start and fourth appearances at the major league level.
Junis has looked excellent through seven Triple-A starts in 2017, posting a 2.34 ERA, 34.6 percent strikeout rate, 4.9 percent walk rate, 0.97 WHIP and 3.06 xFIP in 42 1/3 innings pitched.
