Miami pulls Justin Nicolino from start with left index finger contusion

Miami Marlins starting pitcher Justin Nicolino left Tuesday's start with a left index finger contusion.

What It Means:

Nicolino hurt his finger while bunting in the bottom of the third inning and was replaced by Dustin McGowan in the fourth. Nicolino had tossed three innings of no-hit ball with one strikeout before exiting. He is considered day-to-day and likely to make his next start.

Nicolino owns a 4.15 ERA with nine strikeouts in 13 innings pitched this season.
