Danny Salazar

Danny Salazar likely headed to Indians' bullpen

The Cleveland Indians are showing "indications" that starting pitcher Danny Salazar could be moved to the bullpen, according to Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

What It Means:

Cleveland will need to bump someone from the starting rotation with Corey Kluber (back) returning Thursday against the Athletics. With Mike Clevinger pitching extremely well, it looks like Salazar could be the odd man out.

Salazar only has three quality starts in 10 outings this year while struggling his way to a 5.50 ERA (3.62 SIERA), but has a stellar 30.9 percent strikeout rate and (a bit inflated) 11.9 percent walk rate.
