Rockies' Tom Murphy (wrist) nearing rehab assignment
Colorado Rockies catcher Tom Murphy (wrist) could begin a rehab assignment as soon as next week.
Murphy hasn't played since October 2, 2016 due to a hairline fracture in his right forearm and wrist that has taken longer to recover than was initially anticipated. His rehab assignment could be of the lengthier variety, but the 26-year-old backstop is a worthwhile stash if he's available.
In 32 major league games between the 2015-16 seasons, Murphy slashed .266/.341/.608 with eight home runs and 22 RBI's over 88 plate appearances.
