Giants have Denard Span on the bench versus the Cubs
San Francisco Giants outfielder Denard Span is not in the lineup Monday versus the Chicago Cubs.
What It Means:
Span is getting just his second day off since coming back from the DL on May 11. He will be replaced in center field by Gorkys Hernandez, who is batting eighth against John Lackey.
Hernandez has struggled this season, slashing .169/.245/.225 with a .218 wOBA in 99 plate appearances.
