Royals' Nate Karns (elbow) could be placed on DL
Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Nate Karns could be placed on the disabled list due to fluid buildup and tightness in his right elbow.
Karns was pulled early from his last outing due to forearm tightness, according to the Royals. There's no structural damage in the right-hander's pitching elbow, but the club could stint opt to shut Karns down for a bit. It's possible they'll make a decision later Sunday.
Karns has posted a 4.17 ERA, 27.1 percent strikeout rate, and 6.9 percent walk rate in 45 1/3 innings pitched this season.
