Marcus Stroman holds the Braves scoreless, adds a home run of his own in Blue Jays' victory
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman dealt 5 2/3 scoreless innings on the mound and contributed a home run from the dish on Thursday as the Jays clobbered the Atlanta Braves 9-0.
Stroman allowed seven hits and a walk while fanning six in the win, which moves him to 4-2 on the year. Stroman doesn't often get to work from the dish with the Jays playing in the American league, and that solo home run was the first dinger of his four-year career.
Stroman has looked pretty solid so far in 2017, with a 3.00 ERA, 3.51 SIERA, 19.5 percent strikeout rate and 1.39 WHIP through nine starts (57 innings pitched).
