Pirates' Gerrit Cole allows only one run over seven innings in win over Nationals
Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Gerrit Cole dealt seven innings of one-run ball as the Pirates beat the Washington Nationals 6-1 on Wednesday night.
Cole allowed only three hits and two walks while punching out three in the game, which brings him to 2-4 on the year.
Cole is sporting a 2.84 ERA, 3.66 SIERA, 22.2 percent strikeout rate, 5.3% walk rate and 1.02 WHIP through nine games (57 innings pitched) in 2017.
