Mets' Asdrubal Cabrera has torn ligament in thumb
New York Mets shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera has a torn ligament in his left thumb, according to Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News.
The Mets initially reported that there was no ligament damage to Cabrera's thumb on May 6, but the shortstop's recent comments seem to contradict that. He had been trying to play through the injury before re-aggravating his thumb on Saturday, forcing him to sit out Sunday and making Cabrera doubtful to play on Monday. A disabled list stint appears to be coming, making it a possibility top prospect Ahmed Rosario gets a big league call up.
Cabrera is batting .257 with a .320 wOBA and 21 runs scored in 127 plate appearances.
