Yankees' Luis Severino lasts just 2 1/3 innings against Houston
New York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino struggled with his control in Sunday's 11-6 win over the Houston Astros, walking three batters and allowing three runs on six hits before being pulled after 2 1/3 innings.
Severino managed only 46 strikes on the 77 pitches he threw on Sunday in a rare display of a lack of command from the young right-hander. He ended up with a no-decision as the Yankees offense bailed him out with a six-run seventh inning. Severino will try to get back on track versus the Tampa Bay Rays later this week.
Severino owns a 3.86 ERA and a 2.81 xFIP while striking out 47 batters in 42 innings pitched through seven starts.
