Cardinals skipping Michael Wacha's next start
The St. Louis Cardinals have decided to skip starting pitcher Michael Wacha's next start to give him extra rest.
Wacha was originally scheduled to start on Friday versus the Chicago Cubs but instead will be on the mound for his next start on Wednesday versus the Boston Red Sox. With a day off on Thursday and Monday, the rest of the rotation will just move up one day and stay on their regular five-day rotation. Mike Leake will take the hill on Friday.
Through 36 2/3 innings in 2017, Wacha owns a 3.67 SIERA with a 1.15 WHIP while striking out 8.4 batters per nine innings pitched.
