Cubs scratch Addison Russell with shoulder issue
Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell (shoulder) has been scratched from Wednesday's lineup at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies.
There's no word yet on the severity of the issue, but Russell is battling shoulder soreness, and he will be replaced by Javier Baez at shortstop while Tommy La Stella will start at second base.
Russell has struggled from the dish to start the year, slashing .227/.293/.359 with a .284 wOBA through 140 plate appearances.
