Seattle's Hisashi Iwakuma to receive MRI on right shoulder
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma is headed for an MRI on his right shoulder.
What It Means:
The MRI being for his shoulder suggests it's for something more serious than his bruised left knee. He's already been ruled out for Thursday's start after being placed on the 10-day disabled list, but his absence could be longer than initially expected.
Iwakuma owns a 4.35 ERA (6.29 FIP), 1.26 WHIP and low 12.5 strikeout percentage over 31 innings this season. He's 0-2 in six starts.
