Michael Brantley (ankle) likely out for Indians through Wednesday

Cleveland Indians outfielder Michael Brantley (ankle) isn't far off from playing, manager Terry Francona said, but he might miss the entire series in Toronto that runs through Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

What It Means:

Brantley sprained his right ankle on Sunday, but it doesn't sound like anything of long-term concern. Yandy Diaz is starting in left field and hitting seventh on Monday against right-hander Marcus Stroman and the Blue Jays.

Brantley is hitting .283/.343/.475 with five home runs and three stolen bases in 108 plate appearances this season.
