Jay Bruce drives in three as Mets top Marlins
New York Mets right fielder Jay Bruce went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored as the team drubbed the Miami Marlins 11-3 on Saturday.
Bruce had a pair of RBI doubles in the contest, knocking in a run in the first inning before plating two with a double in the seventh. His 25 RBI are ninth-best in the National League, and his nine homers on the year also rank among the most in the league. The 30-year-old has had to shoulder a bigger load with the Mets missing a number of starters, and he's done so, batting .291/.376/.609 in 28 games to date.
Our algorithms project Bruce to hit .275 with 26 home runs, 68 runs, and 78 RBI in 503 more plate appearances this year.
