Mariners option struggling Mike Zunino to Triple-A
The Seattle Mariners have optioned catcher Mike Zunino to Triple-A Tacoma.
Zunino is off to a horrible start and will be replaced on the big league roster by veteran backstop Tuffy Gosewisch, who will split time behind the plate with Carlos Ruiz. Hopefully, the 26-year-old Zunino can right the ship after a stint in the minors, similar to 2016.
Zunino is batting .167 with zero home runs and two RBI's in 80 plate appearances this season.
