Marcus Stroman yanked by Blue Jays after three innings
Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marcus Stroman left Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees because he was "feeling discomfort in his (right) armpit," Marly Rivera of ESPN reports.
Stroman was gifted a 4-0 lead heading into the bottom of the first inning but proceeded to allow three-run and two-run homers to Matt Holliday and Aaron Judge, respectively. Stroman was relieved of duty shortly thereafter, after just three innings. If there is an arm injury here, the Blue Jays should pass along word after the game.
With the outing, Stroman's ERA swelled from 2.97 to 3.89, though he's still maintaining a 3.39 xFIP. Stroman holds an 18.6 percent strikeout rate and 6.2 percent walk rate through 39 1/3 innings pitched.
