Greg Bird forced onto Yankees' disabled list with bruised ankle
New York Yankees first baseman Greg Bird was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a bruised right ankle.
Utility man Rob Refsnyder was brought up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding roster move. Bird hasn't been 100 percent since his ankle problems began back in spring training.
Bird has gone just 6-for-60 (.100) this season while hitting one home run and three RBI's in 72 plate appearances (19 games).
