Aaron Nola's back still sore, won't start for Phillies on Monday
Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola (back) felt continued soreness in his lower back following a bullpen session Friday and won't return to the rotation on Monday.
The hope was Nola would be out just a start or two but would need a few more days of rest before being re-evaluated for a back strain. The pitcher has been on the disabled list since April 21 and looks to be out at least another week. Nick Pivetta will stay in the rotation for the time being.
Nola has made three starts this year, going 2-0 with a 3.06 FIP and 15 strikeouts in 16 innings pitched.
