J.D. Martinez could return for Tigers in early May

Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said Sunday that outfielder J.D. Martinez (foot) is on track to be activated from the disabled list in late April or early May.

What It Means:

Martinez has been doing some light running and said his foot feels good. He is set to do some more running on Monday and if all goes well he could be in line to begin a rehab assignment before the end of April.

numberFire's models project Martinez to have a .283 average with 28 homers and 90 RBI's over the remainder of the season.
