Clay Buchholz

Clay Buchholz's (forearm) first season in Philadelphia likely over

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Clay Buchholz has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to April 15, with a torn flexor tendon in his right forearm.

What It Means:

Buchholz is expected to miss 4-6 months, meaning his first season with the Phillies will end just after just two starts on the mound. Zach Eflin is taking his place in the rotation.

Buchholz's Phillies career has gotten off to a rough start, to say the least, as he owns a 12.27 ERA with a 2.59 WHIP and five strikeouts in just 7 1/3 innings pitched this season.
