Boston's Craig Kimbrel shuts down the Rays on Monday
Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Craig Kimbrel struck out the side in the ninth inning against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday for his sixth save of the season.
Kimbrel needed just 15 pitches to fan Corey Dickerson, Kevin Kiermeir and Evan Longoria to lock down the 4-3 win for Boston. Monday was the third consecutive game the closer took the hill, likely earning him the day off on Tuesday.
Kimbrel owns a 1.29 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 0.79 FIP with 12 strikeouts and six saves in seven innings pitched this season.
