Mariners place Jean Segura (hamstring) on the 10-day disabled list
The Seattle Mariners placed shortstop Jean Segura on the 10-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.
Segura left Monday's game early after straining his hamstring while trying to get back to first on a double-play. The injury is supposed to be mild with the Mariners taking advantage of the new shorter disabled list stints to get Segura fully healthy. Taylor Motter will start at short in his place.
Motter has batted .174/.280/.279 with two home runs, nine RBI's and 14 runs scored in 100 plate appearances during his one-plus seasons in the big leagues.
