Trevor Story taking Tuesday off as Rockies host San Diego
Colorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story is out of the starting lineup on Tuesday night against the San Diego Padres.
What It Means:
Story has had a pretty brutal start to his 2017 campaign, evidenced by the 24-year-old's .148/.281/.259 slash through his first eight games. Christian Adames is starting at shortstop and hitting seventh Tuesday versus right-hander Jered Weaver and the Padres.
It's obviously early, but Story's 37.5 strikeout percentage is ninth-highest in all of the majors and his 12 whiffs are currently tied for fourth-most.
