Nationals place Trea Turner (hamstring) on the 10-day DL
The Washington Nationals placed shortstop Trea Turner on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to April 9, with a right hamstring strain.
While the Nats still believe the injury is not too serious, they are not taking any chances with their young shortstop this early in the season. Stephen Drew will fill in at short while Turner is on the DL.
In 165 plate appearances with the Nationals last season, Drew batted .266/.339/.524 with 8 home runs, 21 RBI's, and 24 runs scored.
