Denard Span (hip) remains out of Giants' lineup on Friday
San Fransico Giants outfielder Denard Span (hip) is not in the starting lineup on Friday versus the San Diego Padres.
Span has now missed four consecutive games after injuring his hip on Opening Day. Manager Bruce Bochy had hoped Span would be able to play on Friday but will need at least one more day. Joe Panik is batting leadoff while Gorkys Hernandez will man center field once again.
Hernandez has gone just 2-for-14 (.143) with 4 RBI's, one walk, and one run scored in the last three games.
