Steven Souza hitting leadoff for Rays on Tuesday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Steven Souza will hit leadoff Tuesday against the New York Yankees.
What It Means:
Souza was in the five-hole for Tampa on Sunday versus Masahiro Tanaka. However, with lefty C.C. Sabathia on the mound on Tuesday, the 27-year-old outfielder moves up to the top spot, which he is expected to do so all year versus southpaws.
Souza was at his best when the opponent started a lefty last season, slashing .273/.311/.500 in 135 plate appearances in those 34 games.
