Tyler Lyons rescues Cardinals
St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Tyler Lyons came up big out of the bullpen in Thursday night's home game against Pittsburgh.
Lyons threw 5 1/3 scoreless innings to steady the ship after starter Lance Lynn failed to get out of the first inning. Since falling behind 7-0, the Cards have crept within 7-5 in the bottom of the eighth.
Lyons, who is a starter but worked as a long reliever tonight, has a solid 3.48 xFIP this season.
