Twins finalize three-year contract with Jason Castro
The Minnesota Twins have officially signed catcher Jason Castro to a three-year, $24.5 million contract.
Castro is likely going to bring more to the table behind the plate than with his bat, but it's still a solid signing for the Twins who were running out Kurt Suzuki behind the plate last season. If Castro can recreate his All Star season, the signing will end up as a bargain for the Twins, who are in need of some pop in their lineup.
Castro had a down year at the plate in 2016, posting a .301 wOBA and a career-worst 32.7 strikeout rate. He did have 11 homers in 329 at bats though, while adding 32 RBI's and a .167 ISO.
