Nationals welcome Bryce Harper (thumb) back to lineup Friday
Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper (thumb) is back in the lineup Friday.
This is Harper's first outing since injuring his left thumb on Sunday. He's starting in right for Washington and batting out of his standard three-hole against the Miami Marlins and right-hander Andrew Cashner.
Harper's hot start faded almost as quickly as it started earlier this season and now with the year almost over, he is slashing .244/.375/.444 with a .345 wOBA over 614 plate appearances. He has 24 homers and 85 RBI's while lowering his strikeout rate to a career-best 17.8 percent.
