Bryce Harper (thumb) once again out of the Nationals' lineup Wednesday
Washington Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper (thumb) is once again out of the lineup Wednesday as the Nationals take on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
What It Means:
X-rays on his thumb came back negative on Monday, but he will continue to sit out as he recovers. Brian Goodwin will start in Harper's place in right field again on Wednesday.
Harper's hot start faded almost as quickly as it started earlier this season and now with the year almost over, he is slashing .244/.375/.444 with a .345 wOBA over 614 plate appearances. He has 24 homers and 85 RBI's while lowering his strikeout rate to a career-best 17.8 percent.
