Carlos Rodon tallies 11 strikeouts in eight shutout innings for Chicago
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Carlos Rodon put together the best outing of his career Sunday, recording 11 strikeouts over eight shutout innings in a 3-0 win over the Cleveland Indians.
Rodon was locked in Sunday, allowing only two hits over eight shutout frames. He did walk three guys, but even with the inefficiency, the young hurler was masterful at times. He needed 108 pitches to get through eight innings, which is the only reason he didn't get a shot to close out the ninth for the complete game shutout.
The Sox' southpaw has put up a 4.08 ERA and 3.94 xFIP this season over 159 innings of work. He has a 3.96 SIERA and he has lowered his walk rate over four percent to 7.4 since his rookie season.
