Victor Martinez (knee) out for Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader for Detroit
Detroit Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez (knee) is out of the lineup again for Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins on Thursday.
What It Means:
Martinez still hasn't been ruled out for the second half of the doubleheader, but his knee swelling will keep him out of this afternoon's game, and Miguel Cabrera will be the designated hitter while Jarrod Saltalamacchia will start at first base.
Martinez is slashing an impressive .287/.346/.466 with 24 homers, 77 RBI's and a .344 wOBA over 578 plate appearances this season.
