Evan Gattis sends two sailing as Astros squeak by Oakland
Houston Astros catcher Evan Gattis crushed a pair of home runs in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Oakland Athletics.
Gattis gave the Astros a 4-1 lead with a sixth inning two-run blast, and then added a solo dinger in the eighth. This gives him five home runs in his last 10 games (40 plate appearances) and 30 for the season (466 plate appearances).
On the year, the 30-year-old slugger is batting .249/.318/.510 with a .345 wOBA. His 25.3 percent strikeout rate is a career-high.
