Nationals giving Bryce Harper Monday night off versus Marlins
Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper is getting the night off Monday against the Miami Marlins.
What It Means:
With an eight-game lead in the National League East, the Nationals can afford to give Harper some additional rest over the last two weeks of the regular season. Chris Heisey is starting in right field and batting sixth versus Marlins southpaw Wei-Yin Chen.
Harper has regressed from last year's National League Most Valuable Player campaign, hitting .243/.377/.445 with 24 home runs and a .347 wOBA across 591 plate appearances.
