Jose Altuve returns lineup Friday for Astros
Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve has returned to the starting lineup on Friday.
Altuve was lifted from Wednesday's contest due to discomfort in his right oblique. If the Astros weren't in the thick of the playoff hunt, Altuve would have likely been afforded some more time off, but they're going to need his help to punch their ticket to the postseason.
Altuve is having a terrific year from the dish, slashing .341/.401/.551 through 647 plate appearances, with career-highs in both wOBA (.399) and ISO (.210).
