Josh Donaldson remains benched for Blue Jays

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson (thumb, hip) is out of the starting lineup again on Tuesday.

What It Means:

The star third baseman is "banged up," admitted manager John Gibbons. Donaldson also sat out Monday. Darwin Barney is starting at third and hitting ninth Tuesday night versus the Tampa Bay Rays and left-hander Drew Smyly.

The 30-year-old third baseman is having another impressive campaign, hitting 34 home runs, posting a .268 ISO and owning a .402 wOBA (fifth-best). We project him to hit four more taters and post a whopping .948 OPS in 75 plate appearances over the remaining course of the season.
