Pirates' Josh Harrison (groin strain) done for season
Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Josh Harrison (groin) is done for the season.
On Saturday night, Harrison strained his right groin and it will take four-to-six weeks to heal. The 29 year-old slashed a disappointing .283/.311/.388 in 522 plate appearances this season for Pittsburgh, who is currently six games out of a Wild Card spot in the National League. Harrison is signed through 2018 with the Pirates and the deal carries options that could extend through 2020.
Harrison showed little pop this year, hitting just four home runs and posting a .105 ISO (league average is .163). His .300 wOBA is also below league average (.318) and his 3.4 walk percentage is fifth-lowest among qualified hitters.
