Dodgers place Justin Turner (infection) on DL
The Dodgers placed Justin Turner on the 15-day DL with a skin infection.
This is a big loss for the Dodgers’ lineup as Turner has a .409 wOBA which is tops among all third basemen. His 2.72 nERD, which is the number of runs he is producing above a league-average hitter per game, is 18th among all big league batters. Alex Guerrero is taking his spot at third base tonight and could be there for the remainder of Turner's absence. Guerrero has a .318 wOBA and 0.16 nERD so he will be serviceable, but the -2.56 net change in nERD will likely be felt in the Dodger lineup.
