Danny Valencia sidelined for Athletics' matchup with Seattle
Oakland Athletics infielder Danny Valencia is out of the lineup Friday against the Seattle Mariners.
What It Means:
It's a standard day off for Valencia with right-hander Hisashi Iwakuma taking the mound for the Mariners. Ryan Healy is replacing him at third and will hit sixth for Oakland.
Valencia is faring much better against southpaws than right-handed hurlers this season, batting .276 against right-handers (315 plate appearances) and .339 versus leftys (123 plate appearances). His .172 ISO is above his career average (.161), but has dipped from last year's .229 clip.
