Jose Reyes homers, swipes bag in Mets' win

New York Mets infielder Jose Reyes finished 2-for-5 with a homer, a stolen base and two runs scored in the Mets' 6-3 defeat of the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday afternoon.

What It Means:

Reyes led off the game with a solo home run in the top of the first inning, and then after reaching first base base on a groundout during the third inning, he stole second and scored the contest's second run. Reyes added a single in the seventh inning and has been a boost for the Wild Card-chasing Mets during the last month. He's now slashing .287/.341/.485 in 182 plate appearances for the season.

Reyes' six home runs this year are just one shy of how many he totaled all of last season in 337 fewer plate appearances. We project him to struggle over the rest of the year, hitting .258 with a .647 OPS.
