Yoenis Cespedes (quad), Asdrubal Cabrera out of Mets' lineup
New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes and shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera are out of the starting lineup on Monday against the Cincinnati Reds.
Cespedes continues to be hampered by a quad issue that he's been dealing with for the past couple weeks, so the Mets are giving him Labor Day off. In the outfield, from left to right, it will be Michael Conforto, Alejandro De Aza and Jay Bruce. Matt Reynolds is starting at short for Cabrera.
Cespedes is having a fine year, despite injury. He has a slash line of .294/.365/.559 across 438 plate appearances, with 27 jacks and a career-best .385 wOBA to boot.
