Jung Ho Kang will return to Pittsburgh on Monday
Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Jung Ho Kang (shoulder) will be activated from the disabled list on Monday.
Kang will complete a brief rehab stint with Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday and then head to Pittsburgh to start a three-game series with the Cardinals on Monday. He has missed the last two weeks, but he homered during his first rehab game and his bat will be a welcome addition to the lineup down the stretch.
Kang is slashing .243/.326/.481 with a .344 wOBA across 267 plate appearances this season. He has 14 homers and 41 RBI's on the year. His strikeout rate has gone up this season to 22.5 percent, however, his walk rate has also gone up to 7.9 percent, easily a career high.
