Mets' Neil Walker diagnosed with a herniated disc
New York Mets second baseman Neil Walker has been diagnosed with a herniated disc, according to general manager Sandy Alderson.
Walker has been out of the lineup since Saturday, but the plan now is for Walker to play through the injury as much as possible. Expect him to rest regularly throughout the remainder of the regular season.
Walker has put up some solid numbers this year, slashing .282/.347/.476 through 458 plate appearances, with a .350 wOBA and .194 ISO that are both well above his career averages.
