Cameron Maybin (thumb) remains sidelined for Detroit
Detroit Tigers infielder Cameron Maybin remains out of the Tigers' starting lineup on Wednesday afternoon versus the Chicago White Sox.
MRI results came back negative after Maybin jammed his left thumb Monday in an attempt to steal second base. He's currently day-to-day with significant bruising, putting JaCoby Jones in center field for the White Sox Wednesday. Jones will hit seventh against White Sox lefty Chris Sale.
Maybin is having one of the best years of his career from the dish, slashing .329/.401/.416 through 289 plate appearances, with a .360 wOBA that he has only topped once (36 plate appearances in 2008) during his 10 seasons in the majors.
