Boston Red Sox catcher Sandy Leon is out of the starting lineup on Thursday afternoon against the Tampa Bay Rays.

What It Means:

It's nothing more than a standard day of maintenance for Leon, who is currently enjoying a stellar second half of the season. He's logged six jacks and 18 RBI's in 30 games (116 plate appearances) since the break. Bryan Holaday is filling in behind the plate for Boston.

For the season, the 27-year-old catcher is enjoying a career-year with a .369/.425/.618 slash and .437 wOBA in 176 plate appearances.
