Marlins acquire Jeff Francoeur in three-team trade
The Atlanta Braves have sent outfielder Jeff Francoeur to the Miami Marlins as part of a three-team trade.
The Marlins sent minor league catcher Matthew Foley to the Braves and international bonus slot numbers 37 and 97 to the Texas Rangers, while the Rangers sent infielder Dylan Moore to the Braves. Atlanta sent Francoeur to the Marlins and international bonus slot number 93 to the Rangers in the deal.
Francoeur is having an underwhelming season from the dish, slashing .249/.290/.381 with a .286 wOBA through 276 plate appearances. The Marlins need help in the outfield with Giancarlo Stanton done for the season, but Francoeur is unlikely to make a huge impact.
