A.J. Pollock (elbow) likely to return Friday for Diamondbacks

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder A.J. Pollock (elbow) will likely be activated Friday, said manager Chip Hale.

What It Means:

A Wednesday or Thursday return had been discussed, but already out of the playoff hunt, the Diamondbacks have no desire to rush things with their highly regarded center fielder. The 28-year-old hasn't seen any major league action this season due to a fractured elbow, but he's enjoying a .433/.541/.733 slash with two jacks and a pair of steals during his 10-game (37 plate appearances) minor league rehab assignment.

Pollock had a strong showing in 2015, slashing .315/.367/.498 with a .371 wOBA and .182 ISO in 673 plate appearances.
