Red Sox activate Chris Young off the disabled list
The Boston Red Sox activated outfielder Chris Young from the 15-day disabled list.
A hamstring strain forced Young to miss two full months. Boston's top prospect, Andrew Benintendi, has become their primary left fielder, but Young should see action there against left-handed pitchers, who he's hitting .340 against this season. Young is slashing .277/.338/.508 in 142 plate appearances on the year.
It's a small sample size, but Young's .360 wOBA and .231 ISO are both career highs. We project him to hit two more home runs and post an .810 OPS over the remaining course of the season.
