Justin Turner out of Dodgers lineup Monday
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Justin Turner is out of the starting lineup Monday afternoon against the Cincinnati Reds.
Turner missed two games earlier this month with a bruised right hand, but this looks like no more than a standard day of maintenance for the 31-year-old. Rob Segedin will man third for the Dodgers and hit eighth against Reds righty Homer Bailey. Turner is hitting .320 so far in the second half of the season (133 plate appearances).
Turner's .359 wOBA is down from the two previous seasons (.394 in 2014, .371 in 2015), but his 23 home runs in 477 plate appearances are already a career high, and his .237 ISO is on pace to be as well. We currently project him to hit six more taters and post an .830 OPS over the rest of the year.
